About Projects

CRESIRE delivered Scan to BIM modeling for a chemical project in Australia, producing a detailed LOD 300 IFC model for both the site and silo structures.

The project scope included modeling critical industrial components such as silos, lower and upper access walkways, overcell and undercell galleries, inclined conveyor gallery, tower crane, plumbing pipelines, and workhouse structures.

Using advanced BIM workflows, our team made sure that structural and MEP elements were properly modeled with special attention to elevated and inclined structures.

The model supports coordination, planning, and visualization, meeting the client’s expectations for accuracy, usability, and efficient project execution within 1 week, with revisions completed in just 3 days.

Challenges

Although the point cloud data was generally sufficient, some areas of the silos and surrounding structures had low visibility or partially completed scans. This made visibility of deisgn elements like pipework, walkways, and structural details difficult to interpret.
Our team applied BIM best practices and experience-based assumptions. Client also shared reference images that were quite helpful to fill in gaps and ensure the final model was complete, precise, and visually coherent.

Solutions

Our initial assessment for delivery was 2 weeks; however, the Client requested the IFC BIM model within 1 week because it was needed urgently on site by project stakeholders. Our team worked efficiently to deliver the IFC model within 7 business days. CRESIRE implemented an efficient and flexible workflow, quickly integrating all client feedback while maintaining model quality and accuracy, ensuring timely delivery of the final updated model.

Final thoughts

CRESIRE delivered a well-coordinated LOD 300 IFC model of a chemical plant site. We accurately capture the complexity of the industrial facility. By following a proper workflow and focusing on point cloud data, our team was able to deliver an editable 3D bim model within a week, along with timely revisions.
The final deliverables (IFC and RVT models) supported planning, visualization, and coordination needs. The project truly utilisied our ability to handle industrial scan to bim projects efficiently and with confidence.
